Enough Reason for Me
“... and tho'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”
― Alfred Tennyson, Ulysses
I find age relentlessly advancing, relentlessly pushing me forward to that last day where I must resolve myself to an end of my journey, pursued solely on personal fortitude, in which I tried all I could taste, and fostered a similar nature in my comrades, exacted from the same similar nature instilled from my teachers. Here I shall cross over. Here I will make my peace in both how far I travelled and by what unyielding will I steered my own course.
Fewer words speak more to me than these.
