Playing Offense: Rick and Janet

Wasila observed the smoke in the distance that completely enveloped Essie, Rick and Janet. Rick was the first to emerge, charging at the AI that was currently frozen in ice up to her neck. Wasila relished her opponents making a move, as she would soon be able to escape from her icy prison and warm up. She lamented internally once more on how her bikini wasn't providing much protection and comfort from the ice, then smiled sinisterly at what was to come.

Rick wasn't naive; he knew Wasila was toying with them. But his intent was to make a fierce direct assault regardless of what Wasila's next move would be. While they were under the cover of Rick and Janet's smoke grenades, Essie had teleported Janet several yards behind Wasila. Should Rick's attack fail, Janet would hopefully have success striking from the opposite side. And if both of their offensive efforts fell short, they had one last trick up their sleeves (or in this case, armor and mage robe).

Rick was close to Wasila, who was grinning maliciously from ear to ear. He saw Janet approaching their foe from the other side, and smirked under his dark helmet. He was about to perform a running strike to Wasila's exposed neck with his blade, but the ice suddenly shattered before he could get in range. Wasila stretched her arms and legs as if she were doing a jumping jack, and ice projectiles shot out from where she was once imprisoned from all sides. Rick and Janet were each struck by large spikes of flying ice, the armor provided by their dark helmets unable to prevent impalment. Both fell backwards into the sand, but Janet was able to blast the back of Wasila's head with her laser gun before hitting the ground. Wasila fell face first into the sand and laid motionless between her enemies.
