When Death Came
A single tear slid down my cheek, as death extended his hand toward me. When in the throes of illness and intense pain, you ignored me. When descended to the depths of despair, feelings of worthlessness and abandonment rampant in my soul, you refused to release me. All those times I prayed, begging you to end it, you scorned me. Now you're here, and I find that I'm not ready.
Dying Star
"Go to sleep," says the moon to the sun
"I can't," says the sun emanating from the sky
"Why not?" asked the constellation of stars
"I'm dying," says the sun burning the planets
"Be at peace," says the Rocky Mountains
"Meet with me," grumbles the blue Earth
"No," moans the heavenly bodies rotating
"No," groans the rocks floating above
"I'm sorry," whispered the sun with the flares
"I'm dying," exhaled the sun's last flames
"I thought we had more time," says the moon
that started to lose its reflection
My Survival
Footprints in the snow,
Heading from where I went.
Just a backpack on my shoulder,
And a few tears left.
No thought to the future,
No memories of the past,
Just me, myself, and I
On a journey to find who I am.
Hopes, fears, and dreams collide
As my new beginning arrives.
Wind blows and off I go,
Just another day to survive.
