i think
you are my earth
all wrapped up in one body.
or maybe, you are
destruction
all wrapped up in
flowers.
i know
not to trust you.
under all your persuasive lies,
i know.
but you are the
sun
and i am your
flower
aching to twist&turn any direction
that brings my petals closer to your warmth.
once touched by your delicate sunshine,
my skin births freckles —
the intricate pattern of a twisted love
that has been for centuries.
- sitting on her throne, the universe laughs as our fate unfolds
again&again&again&again
i shouldn’t
stare at the thunder,
yearning for a rainbow that never arrives.
but with squinting eyes and a tired smile,
i long for the faintest color
until my heart finds even itself
drowning.
because you are the
rain
and i am your
blade of grass
desperate to be covered by soft droplets —
the gentle morning dew.
it doesn’t matter that the sheet of ice
suffocates me.
my heart is used to the downpour
that falls a thousand years worth
all in one moment.
- the universe smiles. always a rush to watch the tumult unravel
always a rush to watch the rain pour
i think
my body is not meant
to be yours.
these valleys that your hands dip into
these oceans that bring wonder to your eyes
are not yours.
but you are the
moon
and i am your
wave
longing to feel your light pull
floats across my skin in whispers of moonlight.
always caught unprepared when the moon becomes
greedy
and the wave crashes
this way
that way
trying to keep up
trying to find the loving moon that once was.
but all love is long forgotten now
and my cracking fingers are trying to cover my ears to drown out the sound of these uncontrollable waves because i hope the moon will be gentle once again i hope my kisses can stop,
even just for a second,
the sun from burning my body
the rain from bruising my mind
the moon from eclipsing my heart
but you’re not stopping because i’m not enough and soon —
all is quiet.
the heart of the universe fills with glee, eager to make sure that it’s true.
& it is.
the flower is
lost
the grass is
dead
the wave is
still
- that was a good one, the universe declares.
what shall the next version be?

in the midst of this fire,
we dance without a care
without realizing that the flames
are tracing their fury up our legs
burning the edges of our dresses
because what’s blood
when there’s love
to heal
so we let ourselves bleed
throughout the night
hearts screaming and body aching
as we stumble over death
but never into it
because what’s death
when there are kisses
to revive
Blissful afternoon.
She slips the earphones on
music flows in
her eyes close
as she slumps on
his chest
He watches
listens
as her heart beats
as her chest rises
and falls
music dances in her ear
her lips slightly
apart as
she hums
her voice vibrating
against him
slow
peaceful
he dips his head
kissing
her crown
rests his chin on
her head
closes his eyes
wraps his arms around her
Smile graces
their features
as their hands find one another
intertwining
and it’s only
her and him
in this small
box
cocooned with
happiness.
blue carpet
beige walls
stale cigarette smoke lingering in the air.
fingernail digging into palm
trying to make it bleed.
my mind is buzzing
a white noise machine in my head
blocking out everything
i’m pretending
not to think about.

Dear Miranda
Dear Miranda,
Today it rained, and I smelled you. Sometimes I wonder if I’m going crazy, feeling you in everything. Do you think of me when you step in a wood and smell trees? When you feel the edge of your cashmere sweater and remember when I kissed you under the stars? Maybe you don’t. I understand if the memory of me blurs at the edges. It’s been awhile.
~Jack
Dear Miranda,
Today I saw a train and I thought of you. You liked the way the sounds of trains and the little booths we sat in. I feel like I have to remind you of things, to keep your world from going gray. My world’s going a little gray right now.
~Jack
Dear Miranda,
Today I drove past a field of wildflowers and I saw you. You were twirling, flowers woven through your golden hair. You saw me and smile, beckoning me to come closer. I came, Miranda. But you ran too fast, and I lost you.
~Jack
Dear Miranda,
Today I went to the lake and I heard you. You were crying. I went to find you, to comfort you, to set your world straight again, but I couldn’t find you. I searched all around the bank. I heard you though, weeping. Your sobs no longer run through my head, but the echoes of your pain stay with me.
~Jack
Dear Miranda,
Tonight I’ll see you again. I am going out to the lake and my pockets will be full of rocks. I need to see you, to stop the cries that still ring in my ears. Tonight I will see you again, and we’ll pick wildflowers. You will smell like rain and I will smell like trees, and our hurt will be forgotten.
~Jack
Proser Appreciation
I am so happy that close friends (@CambryAnn12 and @ZGWrite) introduced me to prose! You all are the best! ❤️
@brialilly- I'm so proud of your 27, and still growing, followers! I have no idea were your amazing talent came from! You have such a great gift that brings truth and your thoughts into the writing world! Love ya!
@ZGWrite- Okay so, at the begining when I first got on prose I was kind of amazed that you had like 60-something followers when you had just strated a few weeks ago. Now I thought this without having the information that you had been on prose for a month or so already. LOL. Anyway with the talent that you have, it was pretty easy to beleive you had so many followers oer a short span of time! Yay to 103 followers! Proud to be you friend :)! Love ya!
@Love2Write- The smile you bring to my face each time I read your perfect but yet so simple writings! I also love that you feel free to put out a sense of humor!
@CambryAnn12- I wish that you would post more! I know that you have so many great writings out there along with so many more amazing ideas running through that crazy mind of yours! Your funny comments and great writings may not be all over prose but I still love you for them!
@demcmurphy- Thank you for all the likes and comments you give to all writers. I love getting on prose and seeing that you have taken time to look at someone's page and praise them for the work they have done!
This is only a small part of the people that I admire and apprechate their writings. If I had the time and the pateince to sit down and write 20 more then trust me I would!
Shout out to my friends at home: I am so happy to have each and every one of you in my life! Each day you guys give me a reason to laugh and keep going!
Thank you to my followers and friends! On 33 followers! Hoping to get to 45 by the end of January!
Louder than Words. 8/13/18
Actions speak louder than words do, it’s pretty quite, isn’t it? Look at the world we live in, defined by comment sections. Surround yourself with people that challenge how you think. Not people that nod their head and act like they agree. Those people will cut you open just to watch you bleed. Always be yourself, not the person that you pretend to be.
