Write.
Dear beautiful people the time is now to write. There will never be any other time but now. Perhaps no one will like it and perhaps someone will hate it but it is better to have written than to never have written at all. You don’t even need to share it here, but share it with yourself at least, this time to begin a conversation with yourself that may one day help others.

Big Sur
Something’s gotta give and that my friend is you. Be a friend. Try to help it; get it right. Give a little, and tread water till the wave swells, beneath your body skimming like a sleek fish in the blue deep. All you gotta do is roll with it. It’s effortless once you tap into the truth.

The Whirling Dirvishes (after Rumi)
In the spiral filing flare
of the skirts
there is a turning
in my heart,
a softening, an opening...
a blossom
appearing in
a fissure
of the rock
as I
surrender.
Close
your eyes.
Can you hear
the song
within
your silence?

Raven
Yesterday despression fell over me lightly, like the black wing of a great raven, hunkering down over its nest for the night.
Life is so wildly full and disorganized and seemingly out of my control.
The worst thing is I know I have no right to be dull and depressed. My life is great, is it not? I have nothing to complain about. All is well. We have what we need. Thanks to T. Thanks to T.
He is goodness, is he not? He is Adam Bede, isn’t it true? He keeps trucking along in spite of the mundane awfulness. He just gets on with it.
But not me. *I* was taught to imagine life as infinitely full of possibility; that we could be the tiny fleck of diamond on the great raven’s wing, soaring through the skies between the tallest evergreens. That’s what I expect from life.
Not this mundane, out-of-control awfulness. Not placid acceptance of us all being cogs in the wheel of some relentless, pointless machine.
However: I am only under the light, black wing of a raven; I have only to make my tiny way *onto* it, in order to soar
Athens
It was some drug I had not taken. It took me, carried me far beyond the turquoise sea; my friend was mad or sad that night, but she was experienced and I was new; maybe that's why I only felt love. Pure, purest love. I travelled far above the highest layer of the universe, the dancers pumped and jumped in red blue and green; a colour prism converged in me. I was a momentary chalice. Some night club in Athens. The walls breathed and sighed as I climbed so high. Tears streamed. I understood the web of life in one instant.

Update to Wishful Thinking.
We broke down one hour from Calais.
It got hectic.
Boys went pee on the busy *autoroute* in the dark, with hazards blinking.
Called some number we were supposed to call. MMA had stuck it on our side door. #gratitude
Lady was nice with my bad French.
Had to decide what to bring on foot. Presents? Clothes? Computers? Books?
Nothing won. Everything came in shopping bags. We had to leave some things behind.
The things I woulda done.
Later, I'd wish I’d brought the wine.
