The Crossing (a drabble)
"An aluminum john boat?"
"It's a little different for everybody."
"Yeah, but, it's just a john boat. Like the one I got from Wal-Mart."
"Yep."
"So how does this work?"
"You get in. Don't fall out. We go across."
"So, what if I stay here?"
"Then you dwell in a place dear to you until you go insane. Those around you are driven into madness or despair, then they leave you behind. Best case scenario."
"What's the worst case?"
"Something finds you."
"You found me."
"I find everyone."
"What else is there?"
"Trust that there are worse things than death."
Pedal to the Metal
Love has no limit
Corny, I admit it
But, here's a snippit
Always, sealtbelt click it
Cuz love's road is bumpy
Left me jaded and grumpy
Wrecked my ride,
Dented my blindside
Peeled my paint, rusty
Left my undercarriage dusty
Now, that my tank's empty
No one left except me
Walking without limit
I submit
Numb
In the end...
When you're lying in your bed
With the darkest thoughts piercing through your head
When you're putting on a brave face
But feel like a total disgrace
When your child's eyes can't illuminate your soul
When you're swimming about
In a little fish bowl
When you're fed up of justifying every action
Constantly looking for another distraction
When the sun rises but your faith does not
When everyone remembered but you forgot
When you're going through the motions every day
You decide its best to just 'go away'
