The Witness Generation
My generation?
Grew up on TV
in color
Raised by moms
at home
Ate McDonald’s
unknowing GMO’s
My generation?
Can rewind
a tape
Can hear the
dial-up tone
Can feel
arcade joysticks
My generation?
Now rents
instead of owns
Now works
instead of parents
Now struggles
instead of thrives
My generation?
Remembers
homes
Remembers
pensions
Remembers
dreams
My generation?
Had to work
retail
Had to take
2 or 3 gigs
Had to pay
debts
My generation?
Got shafted
Got played
Got bubcus
And no deal
While your generation
Got college funding
Got starter housing
Got social security
And a New Deal
And yet you blame us
For not achieving the same with less investment
For not overcoming our “minor” hardships
For complaining about our unfair hand
Which we only know we were dealt
Because our generation
Grew up watching yours

Generation ?
We’re sick of four walls and empty homes
We’re tired of lies and broken bones
We listen to music a bit to much
But we like it, it makes us feel stuff
We’re sick of reality maybe that’s why we dream
We escape the world looking through a phone screen
We’re tired of people telling us
Our generation sucks and
That we are the ones who messed the world up
But I guess you could say
The thing we hate the most
Is being known for
our depression and suicidal notes.
~ “Hey 2020 please take back your jokes”
well...
like the previous generation,
going against the status quo,
ruining old traditions,
purposeful and intentional rebellion.
oh sorry, i meant,
being more accepting of new things,
having an open mind and growth mindset,
thinking out of the box,
and not being restrained in terms of creativity.
and yes,
i'm rolling my eyes.
Z
Full heads and empty smiles
We're guarded from a terror we already know
You say we ruin everything, but didn't you give us the ideas in the first place?
Say we're silly and idealistic but isn't that what you raised us to be?
Why did you teach us how to play like this?
Why are you asking us to fix your problems?
We can't repay your debt
We can't change who we are
We can't change what we were made to be
We're the picked on, the lied to, the hated, the blamed, the naive
We're the young
But we're dying to be more
We'd die to be more
talkin bout my generation
My genration is pliable, soft-hearted, and excited to move their bodies around in physical space unincumbered by the spiritial and phsyical limitations of past generations who did not have the same understandings of the world that we do currently due to a lack of spacial awareness caused by technological limitations and cultural biases that prejudged human life as an unnatural part of the world that should be controlled and made forgetful of its potential.
We are struggling to break free of this past all the while fighting our own internal drives to give in to a system which keeps human beings away from their thoughts. We are hypnotized by our methods of communication and our emotions are being twisted by sources of immense amounts of information that are controlled by individuals with self serving interests from prior generations who use their positions of power to exploit our unique mental and emotional vulnerability which forms cults of disparate personalities that are designed not to get along with one another.
I don’t think we know why we hate what we do.
We can see ahead of us a world connected and perfected by exponentially more complex and unifying technological innovation. We recognize the ability of the human race to come together in the name of humanity and direct our attention to the perfection of human life.
We are blocked from progressing by remnants of past constructs that were designed to control and direct the human spirit toward the benefit of the few.
What I Grew Up On
A smile so you know your not alone
A hug even though we have to go
High fives in hallways
Even though they make us late
Love that nothing can replace
Laughing so hard it makes us cry
At jokes that make everyone ask “Why?”
Tearing down borders built long before
and opening at least one new door
My generation is growing up on love
Sometimes we are told
That it isn’t enough
Some say it’s time
To start growing up
To fix the problems
Of those before us
When we were younger
Too young to understand
People told us the world needed our hands
That the world is heating up
That kids are dying
Then they would tell us to help
And leave without replying
Then we would just sit there
Then move on to the next
My generation is built
On that it’s ok
To not understand
How to save the day
We were told too many times
How we needed to help
Without any way
To actually help
We are built
On trying to find a way out
People taking about moving to Mars
Instead of figuring this out
We are raised
On always having eachother
On high fives with one another
On laughter that might mean it’s too much
To fix the world by ourselves
We are built
On making it easier to forget
But the ones who remember
Can rise above the rest
We are raised
On trying our best
To fix a world
That has so many regrets
But let me tell you one thing
Some might think it’s too much
But we will fix this world
Even if it is just a touch
That is all we need
To get this started,
We are raised
On laughing until we cry
On hugging eachother
When we have to say goodbye
On high fives in the hallway
Even though it makes us late
On love that nothing can replace
We were built on love
On those smiles just becuase
On always having eachother
And on loving everyone like a brother
We were built on never being alone
On standing together
On ground that is our own
We were built on things that were hard
But nothing will stop us from taking charge
We were built on the broken pieces of the past
And we rose out
like a pheonix from the ash
And if we are supposed to fix this world
Then we will
Becuase you don’t want to challenge the Gen Zs
If anyone feels like it, try to describe your generation in three words in the comments
Screen Time
Hold up, let me tiktok this
Faces behind a screen, while real life goes a miss
We swipe left and right but will never meet
What’s a real date when you can say hi from your seat
We live in a different world now, nothing will ever be the same
People will do anything just for a little insta fame
Subscribe to my only fans, nah I think I’ll pass
