A Writing Dare for TeddyBear9979 (or anyone else)
Try writing something in second person!!! It's my favorite point of view to write in because it's so strange and out of the box, and is super helpful for overcoming writer's block.
You can also take an old draft and rewrite it from another POV (first to second person or first to third person or whatever else) or perspective (from the main character to the side character or the main character to the villain or whatever else sounds awesome). I've always wanted to do that, but never got around to it...
Dare
I dare you to kill your main character. Not in the way that they'll come back in the end, but in the way that they're gone, and there's nothing that will bring them back. No plot devices, no time travel, no nothing (even if any such thing exists in your universe).
They can't be bad either - not someone who's secretly working for the other side, or someone whose ideals don't match up with that of the world, or a person whose death is their redemption.
Let the Cat out of the Bag.
I challenge/dare you to write about something that is against what the masses believe. anything. aliens, monsters, werewolves, vampires, fairies, mythology, Jesus, angels, demons, religion, politics, beliefs, guns, abortion, animal rights vs people rights, debunk a belief.
write about something you know, when someone reads your story. it will light the fire under them. lol, write to convince them what they think is a lie is real and what is real is a lie. POP those "lie" bubbles. lol
sorry, you asked... lol shoot some arrows at those bubbles, help people with your words. hahahaha that's what's great about being a writer. you can help people to see a different perspective. could there really be aliens, werewolves, and vampires? I believe there are after I did my own in-depth research. why did the pentecostal (pentacle) church Kill men women and children in the 1400s for being a werewolf, if they don't exist? Why are people still going to churches when they KILL? why do we STILL PROTECT Area 51 if aliens “don’t’ exist? Why are the blood banks always low or empty and can NEVER give blood? Where does ALL that blood go if we don't have "vampires"
how can people believe in angels, demons, and God and the devil and not believe in “aliens” they themselves are alien to us. I love debunking my own "truth" lol
you have to write it in a make-believe story. people don't want to read TRUTH.
they can talk about animal cruelty buy not human abuse. nice one.
