Definition of occupation
C’mon really? This is a real question that folks can’t seem to see the obvious right in front of their nose?
How many of you have seen castles built with round rooms? No corners, just walls and floors and a roof ?
Who else has seen the Yurts of Mongolian tribal people?
I would have to go with walla on this one friends.
the corners are the walls
the walls cant stand without attchment to the ground, neither does the ceiling. corners then are the thing that connects the sheets of rectangles and squares together, and turns them from an assortment shapes to a room.
a room may be seemingly devoid of corners, if it is made in a spherical, or oblong shape. but every shape has corners. a circle has an infinity of corners, and so shall a sphere.
thus the corners are those that define the room.
Plenty of Room
‘What makes a room more defined?’ inquired the youngest mage.
‘Is it its walls-?’ replied another fellow mage.
‘——Or the corners?’ one other asked.
‘Perhaps a room is defined by the walls…that surround it,’ said the most senior of the mages.
Along came the little princess who had been eavesdropping from behind the gathered mages.
’What’s got you all tickled young
lady?’ one mage croaked staring at the young ruler.
She chuckled, ‘A room is not defined by any of those things.’
She watched the youngest mage raise his eyebrow waiting for her next response.
‘A room does not have to be defined by any walls, corners, or even a front door.’
The mages burst out laughing, but as soon as they did they watched as the princess giggled and smiled.
‘O, see that you take some cover before the storm hits. If you do not mind, you can hop along with me all nice & dry underneath this..’ she said as she opened her umbrella.
‘There’s plenty of room for us all here not to be soaked by the rain!’

Movement & Meaning
Imagine a farm without fences, a zoo unzipped, uncaged and uncaring where animals just sit. And then a friend from afar came to see if it were true... trust the truth left them shocked - nothing to close, no doors to be locked... yet the animals never moved outside their sense of their own spaces. The friend could only venture to ask,"how in the hell did you manage this task?!" The owner of the uncaged collection of creatures could only reply ,"for years upon years, I collected beasts born in closed spaces. They knew only their cages, separated from each other and no idea or intention of the ways in the wild. And so after some time, I unmade the barriers of oppression. And yet there they stayed, stuck by their convention. No fire in their soul, to stroll out into the great unknown... They had been created as captives with only one view of reality. From all this it seems, to live without walls and without dreams, caged by values we use to make reality. Controlled by our conscious and unconscious state until one day we see: we know not what it means to be free.
Neither
What defines a room is not the corners, nor is it the walls that surround the space creating the area. Lines connect and come to a point creating a corner. When I think of the word connect - I see families and friends who connect over the years. People coming together.
When I look at walls I think of the blank landscape turned in to a glorious timeline for memories....whether it is photos or paintings that are a part of us. They are images of people and things cherished that speak of and to us. No one takes that precious space and hangs something that is void of meaning to them. What truly defines a room is the laughter, the tears, the anger, the regrets, the joy, the grief, the celebrations, the love and the living that happens in between those walls...
I think back to my childhood home and my bedroom...where the corners came together a shelf held tennis and cheerleading ribbons and trophies. My walls had David Cassidy posters. Lots of David Cassidy posters. Lots. There was also a University of Texas Longhorn poster. There were pictures of friends and family scattered in the empty spots. The purpose of decorating is to express yourself. I could lay back in my bed and talk on my phone for hours looking at my walls and feel peace. If all the things came down would it be the same room? Yes because of the laughter and loved shared in my room. The late night talks with friends and family. Thoughts and feelings that were realized in that room. The hopes and dreams that started in that specific place.
Whether in a teen agers room or an adults space...think of all your rooms throughout your life. Did the walls and corners define your space? All the things that make up this life our living - what goes on in between our walls and the corners those are the things that define the room. Take a moment to walk back through the places you called home...look at the spaces and feel the memories both good and bad. It is part of you.
Rooms Defined
A room is born when walls are put up.
Corners are born when we decide how much we are willing to put up with.
A wall is built to keep things out.
A room of trust.
Doom or doubt.
Or to keep things in.
What about the fleshly room of our skin?
Rooms filled with wounds hidden beneath the
tombs of our sins.
The many many rooms within.
A room is birthed by walls but defined by doors.
The power to open what is yours to the world.
A room can starve us.
Or spare us from trouble.
We build comfortable rooms in our heads so that we don't crumble.
But we always do.
A room with a window helps us to see things through.
A window may serve as a view of hope.
Or it can be the hole in which we jump to our death.
Corners represent how far we're willing to go.
When the corners begin our imagination ends.
But those whose corners stretch far and wide risk crossing over
to a darker side.
Another life where rooms don't exist.
Where the baleful air rejects God's loving mist.
Where war brings bliss.
And orgasms happen when two bullets kiss.
For strong and healthy walls don't tell at all.
Clean rooms don't smell at all.
A person is but a building of many rooms.
Yeah that's all.
The Writing on the Wall
If I walked into the Sistine chapel, the corners would not be the defining feature.
Art happens on walls. People hide in corners.
Corners encase the room, closing it off to anything on the outside. But the walls say so much about what's happened to it. You can see the complete history from there. How many coats of paint it had, dents, holes, scratches, paintings, posters, even doors.
