i wrote a love poem :)
he smiles across the room
you're trying to interject
no one is listening
but he is
his eyes light up with every word
his body language matches your own
his hair falls gently in front of his eyes
he chuckles and moves it
you keep talking
he keeps listening
a party full of people
but it's just you two
nobody in the world matters
to him more than you do
for this small infinity in time
He’s Mine
He listens to what I say,
and he is patient when I'm accidentally unkind.
He goes silent, contemplating my beauty,
and he looks me in the eyes.
He holds me when he wants to be held,
and he sacrifices his time.
He saves his money to spoil me,
and he holds my hand.
He walks me to class,
and does his best to understand.
He opens doors for me,
and he compliments me.
He supports me,
and he helps me.
He talks to me,
and he gives me his time.
He loves me.
He's mine.
Familiar Love
They were the bravest person I ever knew.
They fought every day for what we all knew was a noble cause.
I know they saved me more than once.
We joked that when they... died... that it would be me they would be saving.
Turns out I was wrong.
We were both fighting when it happened, we were on the same battlefield. But I never saw them get hurt, never saw the person who laid the killing bow.
I found them when they were too far gone, and I couldn't save them. They didn't even get a final word, they were in too much pain.
I spent too long trying to save them, that I forgot to say goodbye.
Riding On The Lip Of A Fantasy
Oh, how my skin electrifies!
Dancing wildly under the warmth of your breath!
Grasp me tighter, my love –
wrap me inside those sweaty arms.
I gasp,
in a delightful desire I’ve never known before.
Oh, how I long to be even deeper,
even closer to the core of you –
an itching pain that I love to envy.
That masterful cloud of lust
enveloping us –
driving the intensity of anticipation
into an instinctual yearning.
As I touch you,
memorizing every essence of your being,
I shiver –
wanting nothing more than to capture this moment forever.
A fantasy in a dream emerges once again.
a song for the birds - eisley
"Care for this dance?"
Her laughter fills the air. The streetlights glow above us.
Orange. Yellow. White.
She smiles, and nods, gives a mocking curtsy while I give a half-bow.
I pass her the earbuds usually hanging freely from my phone.
I take one, she takes the other, safely placed now inside our ears.
The cable makes it difficult to do much more than sway,
but we make it work, and it's all we got,
so I go ahead and press play.
Bass drum, snare, the constant high-hat in the background,
definitely not a song that screams 'romance',
but we make it work, and it's all we got,
and it really is all we need.
I bite my lip and smile, guiding her through a fox-trot,
which is ridiculous since all I can really do is
a high-school level of waltz.
But she doesn't care, and she doesn't mind,
so we keep stepping
front then back, then side to side.
She removes the earbud to let me spin her,
then places it right in her ear once again.
The corners of her eyes crinkle,
and I can't tell if what I see is an added burn;
an added question I have no idea how to even phrase,
let alone guess how to answer the way I'm guessing that
she'd prefer to pretend we know how to fox-trot
instead of going for the worn-out steps of a waltz.
But we make it work, since it's all we got,
and I keep telling myself that as the song fades out,
because God knows I'm too much of an idiot
to have picked a song that simply goes on,
and on, and
on.
She loves with her whole heart
when she hears cries she jumps up and tried to cheer them up even if their strangers
she blushes when she's complemented
she will put you needs before her
she's used to being hurt
she loves cuddles
she loves hugs
she doesn't give up on anyone
she never judges anyone
she is weird and goofy
she will always give second chances
she loves giving gifts but doesn't like receiving
she loves stealing hoodies of anyone she dates
you know she likes you when she's being obnoxious and weird because she believe she won't be judged
she loves to give compliments
she loves the colors black and white and always dresses in them
in the future she wants to help people enjoy life and show them that no matter what their flaws are they will always be perfect and flaws make them even better
she gets through things with her heart not her head
she will love you with her whole heart and she will love you until you break her
The Changing of the Sheets
Mark always looked forward to the changing of the sheets. Most of the time, Richard put out the expensive sheets that he dared not sully. Once a month, however, Richard put out the old gray sheets, wrinkled and fraying from many a washing, which meant that he wanted to have sex, and that he would indulge Mark every night until Sunday arrived and it was time to change the sheets again back to the crimson cloth that meant no more nooky. Mark enjoyed helping to put on the fitted sheet, put cases on the pillows, and tuck the gray under their mattress in hot-blooded anticipation. After two years together, Richard said that it was time to dispose of the gray sheets, at which Mark felt oddly melancholy. As Richard stuffed them in the trash can, he noticed Mark’s forlorn face and said, “the red ones will take the place of the gray ones now.”
Me
Lovely lady, I didn't see you there. Your glasses were fogged in my lens, let me move those for you. Yo, you got some mad kinks. Can I try?
That's how Romeo met me.
How did he meet you? He brought me a bouquet of flowers after my car broke down twice. I just had no where to go. He helped me.
I was meeting Romeo at the bar, he was magnificant, he was holding a tiger and stabbing three men in the eye patches. I'm lying, he was drinking I was drinking and we fought about something significant. It wasn't though, which is why I lied to you, he is just some guy.
I love it, I love him, I hate him. He's greedy and I hate it. He takes what he wants and I hate it. Maybe I don't hate him. Me, Me
