Lost Inside Dark Rooms

You are my lost and found in every breath

opening up to multitude of words unspoken.

I collect your missing jigsaw pieces

but am unable to render you whole.

I search for your essence between my furrows

feeling dreamlike mist of your untold words,

flickering like candlelight trying to rejoin

forgotten flames dwindling into

a love with crooked seams.

I fit you into my memories in sacred place

and feel the static crackling of what we had

in lullabies of night with whispered breaths,

striking me with hammers of resounding pain.

You are both the lost and the found,

tucked into lingering pockets of torment.

Without you, time rifts into wedges

of nothingness searching for sun’s warmth,

socked in by gales that thwart my loss

from being recovered, realizing that

you are now lost inside my dark rooms.
