A Responsible Raven
So the raven reminded responsibly- Caw
And then echoed like leaves dropping
violently- Caw
While answers are stars shooting stingers from space
As worms wriggle, wrangling wreaths worn in their place
Allowing for inclement weather, a breath,
Awaiting the moment, cocooning of death-
His beak is a totem of mealworms and manner- Caw
The raven is waving aloft hunger's banner- Caw
Until shiny objects adjourn the worm's plea,
Distracting and hiding, the bird in a tree-
The raven is flitting and sitting alone
Uncertain of whether or not he is known

Clock Shop
tick tock timepieces
awake from rhythmic slumber
the plenary of pendulums
agree that it is time
birds burst forth on brass branches
call cacophonous cuckoos
once, twice, thrice,
then the doors snap shut
echoes fly away
like dispersing dryads
a cloak of silence settles
over chronometer shoulders
broken only by the murmur
of clocks counting to themselves
tick tock, tick tock
no time will be lost
on their watch
Racoon’s Lament
The Bird was teasing him,
thrumming through the tree.
The tree was teasing him,
trembling its tenuous branch tips in the twilight,
Hiding birds.
Like a scoundrel.
The Treetop hid the moon as it fell,
its wicked glow an eye about to close,
its silver light a waning breath,
he drank its cold milk,
wanted to crack its smooth surface
and also drink
the warm yolk
as it slipped down
the bruising
sky.
Cyberbully
Sitting in spruces, sparrows softly sing.
"Tweet tweet,"
The blue screen shouts.
"Tweet tweet."
Sleepless, you look it in the eye.
Like a lion, the tweet roars at you.
You think you're so tough?
You're just a snail
Encased in a thorny shell.
The tears trickle
From your blackened eye
Onto ochre overalls,
Bouncing off blue bedding,
Landing on lavender linen.
The devious fox is probably
Laughing at the thought of your tears.
You were friends until
You kissed their mate
And now their outbox
Spits out hate mail
Like a kid
Spits salty sunflower seeds.
