Blood Illusions
Unfurl your fiery magic,
watch the naked truth
awaken in deep veins,
tears of the bloodstone
running red rivulets
in the creases of hands.
Pink frost moon blushes
crimson in facets of light,
stars sport bloodstone gem
pendants in mahogany sky.
entwined in roots of flowers,
virgin stones stained
with dark wine blood,
spiritual powers of
healing stone plucked
like grapes from
vine of life,
mending hunks of
bleeding flesh.
Magic
Kat's fingers closed around the diamond and she clutched it in her fingers. If it hadn't have been so large, she almost would have been afraid of dropping it.
Now she was scared her pursuers would realize she had it. She clenched it tighter as she wove through the woods, tripping every now and then. Blood trickled down her arms and face from the thorns and branches that whipped at her as she ran.
She could feel the energy from the diamond strengthening her as she raced onward. She drew in a deep breath, and started climbing the tree.
A few seconds later, her captors raced underneath her and over the rise. She sighed in relief, climbed down, and headed in the opposite direction.
The diamond and its powers were safe.
For now.
