Star Dust
Alone one night and feeling small
completely dimmed, no glow at all.
The stars outside my window bright
lighting up the dark of night.
From way up high a twinkling wink,
I’ll come and visit, what do ya think?
A vivid streak and all was still,
a shining star on my window sill.
Up above the world so high,
I see you here and how you cry.
I’ve made this journey to let you know,
we share life’s chemistry to glow.
Throughout my life like any star
I shine my brightest near and far.
I do not think I’m more or less,
bigger, smaller than all the rest.
So never feel yourself diminished,
that your life’s too dull, your dreams are finished.
Sparkling diamonds of earth and sky,
precious gems are you and I.
Starlight, star bright...
Before she lay down to sleep
she knelt beside her bed
she folded her little hands
and bent her little head;
God bless Mommy and Daddy, Lord
please keep them safe with thee
by your side in heaven, Lord
watching over me;
I know you’re real busy, Lord
but if you wouldn’t mind
please fix Grandma’s broken heart
and help Grandpa be more kind;
And if you have a moment
please take my pain away
but I understand if you can’t
I can wait another day.
She crawled into her little bed
and pulled the blanket ’round
then closed her eyes, and curled up small
and didn’t make a sound;
Soon she was falling
falling fast asleep
but ’fore she did, I swear it’s true
a miracle she did see;
Through the window by her bed
a light came shining bright
she opened up her eyes to see
what was happening to the night;
Her eyes grew big with wonder
for there beside her bed
a twinkling star was hanging
very near her little head.
Oh, little one, I’ve come at last
to let you know it’s true
Mommy and Daddy are in heaven now
watching over you;
And I am in the dark night sky
whenever you look and see
twinkling stars overhead
the brightest one is me;
Now close your eyes, my sweet child
your suffering is at an end
the Lord will take your pain away
your grandma’s heart will mend
with time, ’tis true, that’s all you need
is time and lots of love
but know that I am with you
shining up above.
With that the star began to fade
but ’fore returned dark night
it seemed to touch the little girl
to fill her with warmth and light.
Now every night before she sleeps
before she kneels to pray
she gazes up into the night
to find her star and say:
Twinkle, twinkle little star
now I know just who you are
up above the world so bright
like a diamond in the night;
Thank thee for another day
another day to hope and pray
thank thee for time and love
and shining on me from above.
Into My Room ...
Hi, it said to me,
you can call me Mystery.
I’ve come to give you a glowing life,
no more troubles,
no more strife.
And when you need a friend to call,
stand under the dark night sky,
look to all that which shines down,
and say what you will,
for we listen,
and we shine brighter for your words.
And I said to Mystery,
then next I stare into a speckled sky,
I will voice my words with a loud cry.
Until then, twinkle-twinkle little star,
and it’s nice to know my friend,
you aren’t very far,
to reach when I need you most.
I guess its true when they say.
tis a heavenly host.
The star danced around my windowsill,
and had it hands, they would have clapped,
but then Mystery turned,
preparing to soar back where Mystery came from,
but before that second of disappearance,
Mystery looked back,
and seemed to wink at me and said,
Now we never have to wonder who we are.
Night Star.
I heard the sound of gentle laughter.
It seemed to be coming from some location close to the window.
Curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to find the source of the noise.
Uh, just when I thought I was going to be in dreamland- something had come to disturb my slumber.
I got out of bed and a quick burst of light came whizzing past me, making its way speeding around me— causing me to spin around in circles.
Er, whatever it was~ I wanted it to find its way out of my room...asap!
Then it stopped in front of me and before I had a chance to stare at the bright flying sphere....it transformed into a charming, sparkling, young lady.
I gazed at the woman in awe.
Hmm, this might all be some kind of crazy fantasy caused by a few bottles of liqueur I had with my supper.
She stared at me with wide, deep soulful~cosmic eyes.
Her feet, which truly did shock me, were not on the ground.
She was staring at me mid-air.
“Um.”
I wondered what one would say to a being they just met for the first time, who’s a star.
When I looked into her eyes, for a much longer while, this time, something flashed in my head.
It was her!
I tried to hold back tears from streaming down my face.
My darling, dear.
The one who I always called: ‘Angel.’
Now here she was, back with me in an odd, magical way.
Yes, it was her all right.
The second I caught her smiling, radiantly at me..I knew.
I smiled back at her, before she planted a kiss on my cheek and turned into a star, as she floated away through my window.
Ah, whenever she was nearby my heart always beat a zillion times more rapidly.
Well, now my heart can rest with lots of peace, for I know she’s a part of the heavenly bodies of stars.
#NightStar.
Goodbye
Laying in a bed of roses staring at the stars
I turn over to see skin like milk and hair like mars
You feel like carnations yet I know you’re a constellation
So soft and so far away
You were never meant to lay
In beds of roses with those of lilac souls
You were born to reside in the cosmos
with nebulas and supernovas alike
Leave this garden and go back to the sky
A Messenger
I lay quite still that night
fanning my inner light.
The day put it out some,
so I asked it to come
back and fill me again.
A star came to visit me,
told me to call her Angie.
"You're one of us," she though
And her starry thoughts brought
me to dreams again.
I journeyed far that night,
cradled in fractured light
left by the star
who's thoughts were not far
from my lucid brain.
A star crept in my room last night,
Through the window it did fly,
"Sorry, Sorry, little one,
I fell out of the sky!"
Poor little star,
Are you hurt in any way?
"No, no but now I'm here,
Maybe I could stay?"
Hm, just until the night does end,
Then you'll be on your way.
"Promise, Promise little one,
I'll be good to go!"
Last night I made a friend,
The little star said so.
Celestial Guardian
Drowsy, nearly drifting into sleep
I glanced up, only to see
A bright light shining toward me
I squinted my eyes, taking a closer look
A golden star hovered there,
It's bronze glow casting over me
I smiled softly, assured I could slip
Into a deep, restful sleep
With my celestial guardian
Watching over me
For hours and hours,
The star remained,
Shining its gentle light
It kept me safe
Throughout the long, dark night
Stardust
As I sat in the dark
waiting for the spark
of a deepnight of slumber
A star came inside
my window to hide
behind my curtain with friends in large numbers
My room filled with light
eyes closed, it’s too bright
I feel like I’m in danger
Bur the first said “hey,
it’ll all be okay”
and smiled like a friend, not a stranger
She flew in a dash
Giving my eyes a splash
Of all her childlike wonder
My heart filled with joy
That this wasn’t some ploy
And we danced, never wanting to be asunder
