A Mad Man’s Plea
How now can I be of such unsound mind
when no true acts of turpitude befall
any abhorrent dalcop who dare chide
my superb genius with arrogant gall?
Wherefore art thou all not treated as hounds?
Madness lies within ignorant vessels.
Hearken, sanity rings with charming sounds
While hark thou to the murmurs of devils.
Unbind me now from my infernal chain.
Each link I bear, deceit, for I am sane.
The Shining
A retreat for us all,
a fine place to rest.
What could go wrong?
This place is the best.
So let us now go,
let us fleet, flit, and fly.
Nothing will happen.
It's not like we'll die.
You seem so distraught,
is this some type of ploy?
All work and no play
makes me a dull boy.
Wendy, don't run,
for my axe head is brawny.
I'll chop through this door
and shout out here's Johnny.
You think you can hide
inside of this maze?
I'll find you here, Danny
and make this your grave!
The Palm Within the Pines
Deep in the pine wood
Grew a special tree.
Thinking, there I stood
Rooted deep was me.
I pondered the thought
Of getting my saw.
Right and wrongness fought,
Dumbfounded, in awe.
Looking blindly for
Something, nothing there.
Deep within the core,
Inside, never bare
But, the other trees
Never care at all.
Still, they always tease
wanting me to fall.
I am not as strange
As they seem to think.
Maybe I can change?
Always on the brink.
Wanting to fit in,
Trying hard to cope.
Lost without my kin,
Always losing hope.
Winter is a Stellar Rhyme
Winter is a stellar rhyme
At times, the beauty is sublime.
Sometimes sad and sometimes gay
Sometimes makes pain fade away.
Can be bitter, can be sweet
Can be boring, can be neat.
Perhaps nice, or perhaps mean
Perhaps hidden, perhaps seen.
Someplace shy while someplace bold
Someplace warm while someplace cold.
But, there never is a time,
That winter's not a stellar rhyme.
