"Janet, this kind of sucks...."

"Agreed Rick." Janet replied sheepishly through the pain.

The ice spikes that had impaled them had missed their vitals, but were taking their toll on both all the same. The armor provided by their helmets gave them some strength for coping with the pain, but they wouldn't be getting up any time soon.

"At least Wasila is down for the count. Shouldn't your blast have sent her to the Reflection Dimension though?"

"Yeah, maybe it's because we're in a training simulation?" Janet considered. "There's one more thing that is worrying me a little. Did you notice the kitten hairpin Wasila was wearing? It's not on her head anymore."

"No, I didn't. I wasn't really looking at her hair though."

"Oh, really?" Janet teased.

"No, that's not what I meant!" Rick replied as his face turned beet red. "Yeah, she may look attractive in her bikini, but I swear I wasn't checking her out!"

"I'm just messing with you Rick." Janet laughed weakly. "Besides, I know who you like anyway."

"Yeah, I guess it's pretty obvious." Rick said happily despite his own pain. "Essie is worth going through this for, and I would do it again for her sake."

"You're sweet Rick, but we really shouldn't get injured like this again, especially in the real world. You have a blue healing grenade, right?"

"Yeah, I think Chris upgraded them to also remove things like bullets, so the ice should be gone once we heal up." Rick said as he summoned a blue grenade into his hand by thought.

Janet also summoned a blue grenade into her hand. Before either could drop the grenades and heal themselves, lines of ice extended out of the ice spikes. The new ice froze both of Janet and Rick's hands. Wasila then stood up and took the blue grenades from them, and held the grenades against her stomach. Both grenades absorbed into her skin.

"Sorry guys, but those are better suited for me. I have some other bad news for you too."
