Doctor Doctor
I called for my doctor complaining my ills,
Expecting my usual pallet of pills,
He checked and cajoled me and said to me thus,
Your outlook is feeble you have a weak pulse,
I asked him quite meekly just what should I do,
He said I propose a new treatment for you,
A months course of Prose would rebalance your life,
And maybe look out for a suitable wife
So I started to write just as he did suggest,
And using my Prose app did daily ingest,
Some writing and reading of quality words,
And sandwiches layered with tart lemon curds,
And within a month I was up and about,
I'd found a new muse and had something to shout,
Alas though one thing has eluded my life,
I never did find me a suitable wife!

The sadness over powers you into this state of mind where nothing makes sense. It's a place where nothing seems real, not even being in your own state of mind makes sense. The people around you seem fake because they are so happy and you wonder how it's like to be like that. But you try. You try and smile when you feel down and you try and laugh but it's all fake. You don't feel that happiness and joy that you see in other people. You don't feel like everything goes your way or when you're finally happy it stays, because it doesn't. You think maybe you are finally happy in the aspect that you're in right now but that goes away and reality comes back into you. It hits you like a truck hits a wall. It's a huge impact that you keep with your self day by day. The smell of the flowers are dull and the sky's are always grey. Your head is full of thought and emotion and the world is against you. Everything you say/do is wrong. Everyone you meet eventually leaves because you're not good enough. You try and be strong but thats the hardest part. You push everyone away that has come and tried to help you because they can't feel what you do, but you can't even explain what's wrong. It's not even a sadness, or emotion because at this point its your lifestyle. You're use to the disappointment and being hurt that you're just numb. You take everyday and hope it's your last instead of living like it is. You'd rather be alone because that's when you can cry or be yourself because that's where no one will judge you. You hate yourself everyday because you don't fit in. No one really likes you, you keep telling yourself that they put up with you because once we all grow up they're going to forget about you anyways. Being alone is where you feel most comfortable. With no one around. Your thoughts fill your head and you make the wrong seem right. Our thoughts are our own worst enemy but it makes everything come out to seem so true.
Up from the roots.
Author Ryan Boudinot's story is simple:
He's "just a guy who wants cool things to happen in his city, who loves books and loves reading, and loves talking to writers and learning about new voices," he told [NPR] in autumn 2013.
One of Prose's own, Boudinot is a man enraptured by the spirit of literature. Currently spearheading the campaign petition for UNESCO* certification of Seattle as an "International City of Literature," he's committed to literary excellence- local and international- and the preservation thereof. He recognizes a rich spring of voracious readers and writers like yourselves... like all of us.
We're also from The Emerald City, although it started in Austin, Texas, remember? (Click on the hashtag above for a recap.)

I Should Button It
My most regretted words ever occurred during a time of my life when I was at a serious imbalance in my life. I had just been discharged from the forces and as most veterans are during the initial rehabilitation phase into civilian life, I was still a serviceman in my mind.
I had taken my first job on becoming a civilian, it wasn't much to speak of, working for a two bit security firm, but it gave me breathing space to think about my next move while bringing home a wage, albeit a piddling one.
I'd been in the job for three weeks and was called into head office to discuss my prospects. It went well initially, as the lady interviewing me was very talkative and obliging, then, she began pointing out that I would have to sign a new contract which would mean working longer shifts for the same wage.
I gave some serious thought for about ten seconds, she could see that I was not happy about it and she stood up and said;
'just sign the contract'
That was it.
I stood up, got right into her face and snarled;
'Shove it up your fucking ring'
....and walked out.
And the moral here is, don't try and screw a vet.
Writing.
Okay, here's my top tip for writing (for example), a simple short story.
First you have to understand that people are going to read what you write, and hopefully you want them to enjoy reading it - right?
So then, think about what you enjoy reading about and then ask yourself why you liked it.
Once you figure out why you liked reading something you should think about adding that magical spice into your own writing, and it is so easy you just wouldn't believe it. So, grab a pen and a piece of paper and write down the following three words;
BEGINNING
MIDDLE
END
Those three words just about make up what your story should contain, and I hope that you understand this simple rule because every story has these three principles within them. Next - so what are they?
The Beginning. The beginning of your story is where you introduce your readers to whatever your story is about. Introduce some characters also, maybe a hero or heroine (or both), and describe them to your readers. This will help your audience to forge a bond with your characters and make your story more readable.
The Middle. Okay, once you've got the beginning of your story out of the way you can start on the Middle bit, this is the main part of your tale and it can follow any theme you like. Try to think about what would happen to your characters that you created in the beginning, and describe it as best you can.
The End. This is the End of your tale and normally this is were you finish your tale off with maybe a happy ending - or whatever you like, I do like a happy ending, don't you?
I really hope this is of some help to you, and I'm looking forward to reading what you decide to write.
Try it - once you start you'll be surprised how easy it is.
