Sad Sick
I woke up this morning
In the middle of a pandemic
Nothing started to matter
My skin wasn't with it
The president wasn't flattered
A statue of hate more mattered
Am I a joke!
Can he get tested
A country sad sick infested
Is this it
I wake up every morning to this shit
A piece of cloth to cover my face
A piece of cloth can get me killed cause of race
My health or my life
My life or my breath!
Have we hit bottom
Is there any stimulus left
To vote and then what
I protest
To appreciate the little things
I hope and I pray
For a new day
All the coffins in the ground
I'm trying not before my time
But all the things I lack
I'm still black
Can you vaccinate 2020 and back, ..sick
We can't lose another embodiment of good
Unarm Persons, Leaders, Social justice "hoods"
We in the middle of a Pandemic
However, we lead though
Sad about our ego
Lively
Looking better
I'm in perfect key
Looking better
fit like a symphony.
Up close and personal
love is free
committed to myself
be ready for me.
Expanded and upgraded
the melody of my heart
undergone the taskmaster
over again to start.
Don't knock my rhythm
Don't step on my feet
I'm not afraid
Don't look just leap!
Looking better
I'm in perfect key
Looking better
fit like a symphony.
Cause You Say Nothing
Quiet skin and sad eyes
When you are abandoned
You are left vulnerable and wise
You seek to be excepted and left alone
A part of something big or in a corner with a low tone
You encourage while being discourage
Why can no one feel what you feel
Cause you say nothing
You don't need any sympathy
The world is happy
Yet it seems so
Like a hot cooktop, it doesn't come close
To be quiet and crying
Forgotten heart and crying smile
Where you find only self
Ink and paper walk your mile
The issues come as life and death
Your world finds strength with each deep breath
You cover your face only to please, while you are never at ease
Why are the words, "help," too hard
Cause you say nothing
You long to be touched
The world is sad
Yet it seems so
Like awarm hug, it wants to embrace you
Not to be sad or forgotten
AARP
My mother told me, when I came home one evening from work, that AARP is great and all, but being old you come to realize that old people can't help old people. They have the same issues I do and they all want it to be between the years 19 something and 2000. After that she started playing Candy Crush and asked "Do I have a Facebook account? Cause I'm old I don't recall." I told her no. She said, "If you were old you couldn't tell me that. There should be young people at AARP." So with that said, she just need to get that off her chest after talking to AARP and all I could do was laugh. Enjoy your parents.
Woman - Too Long
Woman,
you have kept your head down too long.
Mother.
Teacher.
Leader of song.
Woman,
you are a fighter of truth.
Daughter.
Lover.
Follower of Ruth.
Woman,
don't let words of others say you are mistaken this time.
Hero.
Philosopher.
Whom the bell tolls for louder than a chime.
Woman,
you have spoken; keep on sayin until they have heard.
Powerful.
Soaring.
Like a wolf, become a hunter, we were never a timid bird.
Woman,
we stand in the mist of a deep smog.
Giver.
Protector.
Be a knight, head up high, in this era of rusty cogs.
Voluntary Slave
Whos approval do you seek?
You need none from God.
He placed you here.
You should act like you belong.
Don’t let some one draft you for it.
To many died to remove it.
While others try to ignore it.
You creature of habit,
Remove it!
Your day won’t change.
If you stay the same
and be ridiculous,
Causing yourself pain.
All things needed are yours.
They aren’t mislabled trending or fake.
Not to tribal or swiped.
You can change your fate.
Ejected State
I'm stuck on the other side of this fence.
Where there is no room for others to come in.
And fire is all over me.
That water cannot put it out.
My house is full of rotten food.
And I'm the one who is crude.
I'm stuck on the other side of this fence.
If I open it you may want to enter in.
And fury is all I feel.
Your pleads don't even feel real.
Your babies my have cries.
So I cover up my eyes.
I'm stuck.
I dont believe the state I'm in.
Your effort to knock on my fence,
I should let you in.
