Love story? uhhhhhhhhhh....
I'm no good at this but here we go...
Jack walked into his room and smiled when he saw Jen.
"You missy, are grounded." He said.
"I know but I got soooo bored." She said
"And what would your parents think about you being here?"
"That's why no one is going to tell them I stopped by."
Jack walked up to her and kissed her on the lips. She smiled.
"Almost worth committing a misdemeanor," Jen said.
"Actually, breaking and entering is a felony." Jack responded.
"Hey..." Jen said "I didn't break anything, so it's just entering."
"Oh really?" Jack asked.
"Mhm," She said "and I'll only go to jail if you press charges."
"Or if my parents press charges," Jack responded.
"You would talk them out of it for me, right."
"Sure,"
He kissed her again.
"Now is that worth commuting a felony?" Jack asked.
"Couldn't tell," Jen responded "We have to retry."
They kissed each other again.
"Okay, totally worth it!" Jen said
Jack laughed and kissed her one more time.
"Ok I got to go," Jen said "My parents are gonna get suspicious when they don't hear me yell 'shut up' at my brother."
"Ok, see you at school babe!" Jack said.
"You too," Jen said, she then exited through the window and went home.
A Flower in the Rain
"Risa, wait up!"
I did, not walking again until he caught up to me, matching his stride with mine.
"So, how do you think-"
I gasped as I saw it, cutting him off.
"Look at that iris...it's so beautiful!" I exclaimed.
"You like flowers?" Col asked me.
I nodded slowly, still mesmerized by its colors. The iris was a rich blend of purple, blue and red that mixed so naturally and so wonderfully-I could barely comprehend it. Reluctantly, I pulled my eyes away from it.
Strangely, Col was quiet for the rest of the time that we walked together.
The next day was Valentine's Day.
As I walked to school that morning, I felt a small tap on my skin, so light that I almost missed it. Then came another, and another. Of course it was raining today.
All throughout the day there were valentines and romantic gestures all about, regardless.
After an eventful couple of hours, I waited in the cascading rain for Col, so that we could walk together. Minutes passed, but he never arrived.
So I went home.
I had received a valentine, and nothing bad had happened at school, so what was the matter?
It felt like I was waiting for something.
With a sigh, I went downstairs to the kitchen. I smiled faintly as I realized that I had forgotten to take off my rain-soaked clothes.
When I reached to turn the pantry doorknob, I heard a noise - someone knocking on the door. So I went to open it.
There, on the doorstep, was the same iris that I had gazed upon yesterday, dry and even more beautiful than I had remembered.
I smiled, this time completely, and picked up my flower.
A laugh sweeter than strawberries, I began to watch amazed. At first, I only noticed the mossy curling of their hair, completely fluffed atop their head. It was simple, my longing was younger.
Then, a horrible blossoming began at my stomach, I felt it inch within me when I looked in their eyes. I was completely sick with love.
"You're an idiot!" Their voice softened to a fondness I had not heard much. It was gentle and friendly. "You're welcome." I snarked back. To my satisfaction, a laugh followed.
One horrible night, deep sobs heaved from me. I indulged in being close to them, asking wordlessly and desperately to be loved.
"Do you want me to read to you?" The ache in my chest softened. I would die a thousand deaths to live a lifetime with them.
afar
A rose and a dandelion watch each other from afar.
The rose grows in a bush in front of a house, cared for by the old woman who lives inside.
The dandelion grows in a crack in the sidewalk, blooming a yellow as bright as the sun.
Though their distance was vast, they found their ways to communicate with each other. Short messages, carried on the wings of the bumblebees who gave them life.
