Fractured Parallel Layers
World dodges
ricocheted bullets,
buzzards of coded secrets
disguised in layered flesh,
despising those
who don’t fit its husk.
Hidden in a moldy blend,
a dance with no music,
in tumbled pages of rust
refusing to hold hands
with the enemy.
Watching promises
bleeding through
jagged cuts,
world evaporates
into fractured parallel layers
of scattered sand,
renting its skin in strips
from embezzled thoughts
of false witness
against antagonists
who don’t fit its image.
Stand up, brave world,
an unclothed skeleton,
for what is righteous
solving the riddles
of earth’s life force
by opening your soul
to possibilities.
Homicide
Sheets pulling at my finger tips,
Calloused hands well kissed,
Rest in the hollow of my throat.
Gentle finger tips,
Skate across my cheek,
Hair falling like raining silk.
A squeeze,
Soft at first,
Then a wrenching gasp.
His hands around my neck,
Scarred with all the love I had to give,
Forever growing tighter.
Arms flail, wailing down,
Chest caving in,
Making room for the air I cannot get.
Soft fog packed between brain and skull,
Black curtains over eyes,
Then light spilling over.
Across the bed, sheets that held,
Lays out the back I've kissed,
Hands that deal death are nowhere to be seen.
If I had a choice...
If I had a choice
Where would I be?
If I had a choice
Would you love me?
If I had a choice to go far away
If I had a choice could I stay?
If I had a choice
To dream and dream
If I had a choice
Would you let me be?
If I had a choice
To walk in the rain
If I had a choice
Could I do it all day?
If I had a choice
To scream and shout
If I had a choice
Could I let it all out?
If I had a choice
To walk naked and bare
If I had a choice
I wouldn’t care
If I had a choice
To cry tears of blood
If I had a choice
Would you clean it up?
If I had a choice
To be hurt inside
If I had a choice
Would you let me cry?
If I had a choice
To be happy and live
If I had a choice
To smile and grin
If I had a choice
To skip around
If I had a choice
To sing out loud
If I had a choice
To be left alone
If I had a choice
To moan and groan
If I had a choice
Wail and cry
If I had a choice
Would you let me die?
If I had a choice
To choose one of these things
If I had a choice…….
What would it be?
